Cran-Max caplets contain cranberry extract consisting of concentrated cranberry juice powder and fibre, equivalent to 7500 mg. of fresh, whole cranberries. Two caplets are equivalent to one 8-ounce glass of cranberry juice.
This formulation is unique in that pure cranberry fibre has been included with the cranberry juice concentrate. The fibre transports the active ingredients more effectively to the intestinal tract, where they are more readily-absorbed and bioavailable.
The New England Journal of Medicine has recently reported studies at the Harvard Medical School which have demonstrated the positive health benefits of consuming one 8-ounce glass of cranberry juice daily. Cranberries contain many bioactive components, including the antioxidants known as proanthocyanidins/anthocyanidins, as well as ellagic acid and many vitamins and minerals. Ongoing medical research is investigating the relationship of components found in cranberries to various known health benefits, including decreased urinary tract infections, reduction in cancer tumours and antioxidant abilities.
