An antioxidant formula with beta carotene, vitamin C, vitamin E and selenium.
Beta carotene (from carrots) is an effective antioxidant, important for maintaining normal night vision, healthy skin and resistance to infection. The consumption of caffeine, alcohol and tobacco increases the body's need for beta carotene.
Vitamin C (from potatoes) is considered to be the most important antioxidant in extra cellular fluid. It is also necessary for hydroxylation reactions involved in the synthesis of collagen and other important biochemical reactions.
Vitamin E (from soy) is a major lipid-soluble antioxidant found in all cellular membranes. Vitamin E protects red blood cells, cellular respiration and inhibits coagulation of blood. It also protects the polyunsaturated fatty acid in blood lipoprotein against peroxidation.
Selenium is essential for good health and must be supplied through the diet. It works with vitamin E to preserve tissue elasticity. Selenium is a component of the protective enzymes for enzyme defense.
