The St. John's Wort plant was named after St. John the Baptist, because it was believed that the flowers "bled" at his beheading. In fact, small glands in the flower petals release a red oil which contains the anti-depressant constituent "hypericin".
Traditional Medicinals Good Mood tea combines both the standardized extract and dried herb of St. John's Wort along with lavender flowers, sage, bergamot and rose petals for a soothing, aromatherapeutic blend.
